Shelby
Clayton
Shelby is a psychologist who believes therapy should feel like connecting with someone who genuinely cares, and she is passionate about building strong relationships with her clients, empowering them to navigate life’s challenges while recognising their unique strengths. She aims to make therapy feel warm, collaborative, and human, with the idea that clients can show up as they are, whether that’s overwhelmed, overthinking, shut down, or just trying to get through the week.
She works with children over 10, adolescents, and adults, supporting a wide range of presentations including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, neurodiversity, relationship and attachment difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, and broader life stressors. She also provides ADHD coaching and supports clients in building clarity, confidence, and direction when things feel a bit stuck.
Shelby draws primarily on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while integrating other evidence-based approaches as needed to best suit each person. Her focus is on building strong, respectful therapeutic relationships and helping clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.
She also provides psychological assessments, including:
Educational assessments
ADHD assessments
Adult ASD assessments
Vocational and life pathway assessments
Dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia assessments
Functional Capacity Assessments
WorkCover assessments
Outside of work, Shelby can usually be found spending time with her dog Teddy, exploring good food spots, or getting slightly too invested in a TV series she swore she’d ‘just watch one episode’ of.
