Mia
Habel
Mia is a warm, compassionate, and insightful psychologist who is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, adults, and parents create meaningful and lasting change in their lives. She is known for her genuine, down-to-earth nature, and her ability to build strong therapeutic relationships where clients feel safe, understood, and valued. Mia takes a collaborative, person-centred approach to therapy, believing that each individual is the expert in their own life. She works alongside clients to explore their experiences, identify their strengths, and develop strategies that feel authentic, practical, and empowering.
Mia provides evidence-based support across a range of mental health concerns, with particular interests in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety-related disorders, and perinatal mental health. She often draws on Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy to help clients connect with their values, develop psychological flexibility, and move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Her approach is warm, flexible, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
Mia also has a strong passion for working with children and parents. She values the important role that parents and caregivers play in a child’s development and welcomes collaborative involvement throughout the therapeutic process. Mia is trained in the Circle of Security Parenting program and draws on attachment based principles to support parents in strengthening connection, understanding their child’s emotional needs, and navigating the challenges of parenting with greater confidence and compassion.
In addition to therapeutic work, Mia offers the following assessments:
- Psychoeducational Assessments
- Cognitive Assessments
- ADHD Assessments
In her personal life, Mia is an enthusiastic plant-parent who lovingly grows and propagates her own “plant babies”, which are often proudly displayed around her office in decorative pots, adding a touch of nature to the therapeutic space.
